Recommendations

Anindha enrolled in my online course, CS1301: Introduction to Computing in Python. You can check out the course at bit.ly/CS1301PC if you'd like to get a feel for what was covered. As part of completing the course, students must complete over 400 programming exercises, 1000 multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank problems, and complete multiple exams to ensure that they can demonstrate their knowledge of the material in a timed setting. The course material is used as the basis for a for-credit section of CS1301 at Georgia Tech, and MOOC students complete all the same assessments and similarly-difficult tests under the same timed conditions as Georgia Tech students. I include all this to say: MOOC students complete reliable, rigorous assessments including identity verification, just the same as for-credit students at Georgia Tech. Anindha passed all four courses, which I feel means Anindha has attained the same level of understanding of introductory computer science in Python topics, from the basics through object-oriented programming and algorithms, as a student passing the for-credit course at Georgia Tech.
